The master’s degree of folklore in College of Creative Culture and Communication in Zhejiang Normal University was successfully declared in 2006. It started national enrollment in 2007 with code of 030304 and is charged by professor Huawen Chen. There are 5 full-time tutors, 1 part-time tutor, 1 in the second batch of “5 first groups” talents in provincial propaganda culture system, 3 outstanding young and middle school backbone teachers, and 1 with honor of new-star of educationalist in Zhejiang. After five years since its establishment, more than 150 papers have been published in the journals such as Folklore Studies, Journal of Guangxi University For Nationalities, Zhejiang Social Sciences, and Social Science Journal. More than 20 books (collection of papers) were published, including 10 academic monographs and 2 textbooks. It has undertaken about 10 provincial programs and above, and received first prize once, second prize once, third prize twice in the excellent achievements in philosophy and social science issued by people’s government at the provincial level.

    The master’s point has 3 research orientations, namely theoretical folklore, historical folklore and intangible cultural heritage with 29 current students in school. In recent years, supported by the non-heritage base, based on theoretical literacy cultivation, orientated in field research, focused on strengthening of postgraduate training standard and implementing tutorial system of paper writing, the degree point witnesses an significant leap in the quality of postgraduates.
