| Located in the beautiful port city Ningbo, Ningbo University is a dynamic, young and comprehensive university with a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine and management. Established in 1986, with the first donation from Sir Yue-Kong Pao, it has been developed into one of the key institutions of higher learning of Zhejiang Province and was selected as one of the “Double First-Class” initiative universities and disciplines of China in 2017.
The number of its full-time undergraduate students amounts to 16,298 along with 6719 in-residency postgraduates, 2651 international students(1668 degree students) and 15476 part-time students. The number of teaching and administrative staff reaches 2720 of which more than 1750 are teachers, with 4 academicians, 390 full-time professors and 790 associate professors. There are 7 provincial first-class A disciplines and 6 provincial first-class B disciplines. According to the data published by ESI, engineering, clinical medicine, chemistry and materials science have entered the top 1% of the world's academic institutions. |
