IEC Attends OCSC2018 International Education Expo in Thailand

From 10th to 11th November, IEC attended the OCSC 2018 International Education Expo in Thailand, which attracted more 340 universities and institutions from more than 20 countries including China, USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Wissanu Kreangam, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand initiated the Expo with an opening speech. A total amount of 23,000 people were attracted to the Expo. In recent years, China has become a hot destination of higher education for Thai students with steady rise in its national strength and international standing as well as increasing cooperation between Sino-Thai enterprises. A total of 28 thousand Thai students are studying in China currently with an 8% increase in the year of 2018 compared to the previous. As the only university specializing in Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University attracted students with keen interests in Chinese Medicine for consultation. The Expo is quite productive in promoting ZCMU in Thailand. On 13th Nov3mber, staff of IEC paid a visit to Chongfash Sinseung Wanichbumrung School in response to the invitation from its Director of Board, Mr. Paitoon Trakarnsirinont and Chinese Principal, Zhang Jing. A cordial and friendly meeting was held concerning the issue of Chinese language education and recommendation of outstanding students to ZCMU. Afterwards, a presentation on programs and requirements of application was given as the senior students as the audience. Founded in 1901, Chongfash Sinseung Wanichbumrung School is the biggest Chinese School in North Thailand. In more than 100 years, the school has dedicated itself in Chinese language and culture education and built up a reputation in China with a friendly visit of Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China, in the year of 2013. In 2018, ZCMU received 5 excellent students from the school for the study of Chinese Medicine. |
