There are 59 years of history for Mathematics Department in Zhejiang Normal University. It began to cultivate master graduate students in 1982, and was authorized the right to grant master's degree of pure mathematics in 1995. In 2006, it got the discipline master's degree-awarding authority, while it got the PhD’s level discipline degree-awarding authority in 2013. The Department now has 73 faculty members, including 28 Professors, one member of the National Thousand Talents Program , one member of the Thousands of Foreign Experts Plan. Over the years, the department tracks the international forefront of academic research and new growth points of direction crossed with other disciplines, forming some  advantaged research directions, such as graph theory and combinatorics, differential equation and dynamical systems, function theory and functional analysis, algebra and number theory, optimization and control, stochastic analysis and mathematical statistics, and it also gains a series of influential research results in the respect of scientific research.
