To carry forward and inherit the splendid traditional culture of the Chinese nation, stimulate international students' interest in learning Chinese culture and improve international students' application ability and level of Chinese language as well as enrich the academic and cultural atmosphere on campus, the International Education college and the Confucius Institute of Coimbra University in Portugal jointly held the "Fifth Chinese Language Competition". After a month of fighting, the final was held in the lecture hall of the library on May 31.

Since the launch of this Chinese language competition in April, international students in school, overseas and from Coimbra Confucius Institute in Portugal have actively signed up for the competition. The competition consisted of three stages: preliminary competition, written test and final competition. After fierce competition, 11 teams finally reached the final competition.

The Chinese language competition has been held by the International Education College since 2016. This year was first time for the University of Coimbra in Portugal to co-host the competition, which provided a better platform for spreading Chinese culture and allowing international students to integrate into IEC family better.
