Sistercity Scholarship of Jinhua Municipal People’s Government

In order to actively put into place of President Xi Jinping’s “Belt and Road” Initiative, promote the internationalization of Jinhua’s education, attract more foreign students, enhance their understanding and friendship with Jinhua, and encourage international students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, our government has set up a special scholarship program for overseas students who want to pursue a study in Jinhua’s local universities, such as Zhejiang Normal University and Jinhua Polytechnic. The scholarship falls into two categories and different award standards are adopted: 1. Category A scholarship is intended for excellent students who want to receive junior college or above education programs in our city and whose number is controlled within 5% of total on-campus overseas students in one university, with the standard of RMB 20,000 Yuan per academic year. 2. Category B scholarship is intended for excellent students who want to pursue a higher education program for one semester or longer in our city and whose number is controlled within 10% of total on-campus overseas students in one university, with the standard of RMB 10,000 Yuan per academic year. 3. Students who are from and recommended by the twin cities are entitled to the said scholarships. Those who have studied in Jinhua for one academic year or above enjoy Category A Scholarship and those who with less than one year can get Category B Scholarship. These students are to be recommended by the twin cities or their governments and confirmed and approved by our Office based on their overall conditions. Application requirements： 1. The applicants shall have foreign nationalities, hold foreign passports and valid visas or residence permits in China, be friendly to China and physically fit. 2. The applicants shall behave well, follow the university rules and regulations, and have no violations against Chinese laws during their stay in China. 3. Applicants of Category A and B scholarships should be academically outstanding. 4. Applicants of Category A and B scholarships have not won other scholarships granted by the Chinese government simultaneously. Recruitment procedures： 1. Eligible applicants should apply online http://iso.zjnu.edu.cn/Account/stuLogin before July 1. 2. ZJNU is responsible for reviewing the qualification of applicants, and will select applicants based of the selection process who meet with our demands. 3. If being admitted, students should pay 400 yuan or 70 dollars as registration fee.
