International College (IC) is located in East Lake campus of Zhejiang A&F University and boasting of extraordinary natural beauty and rich academic resources. It was first established and named International Education Center in 1999. In 2002, International College was officially founded and became an independent state-run institute of Zhejiang A&F University.

In the early years, IC was mainly working on Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, such as cooperation with South Western Sydney Institute of Technical And Further Education (TAFE) in college education, and bachelor degrees project with University of Western Sydney in Business Administration. Since May 2011, IC has been responsible for international education of ZAFU, including Chinese language and cultural education for international students, international capacity-building training programs, and global classroom programs.

IC has four branches, including Administrative Center, Foreign Student Affairs Office, Recruitment & Academic Affairs Office and Academic Center, together with a working faculty of 25. It boasts of a seasoned high-quality Chinese teaching team and high-level management stuff with international vision that know well about education and management. All the members of international Curriculum Teaching Team all have been studied abroad, equipped with rich experience in IELTS&TOEFL teaching and examination training.

IC offers multiple levels of scholarships to foreign students, including Confucius Institute Scholarship, Zhejiang Government Scholarship, Zhejiang A&F Scholarship and Enterprise Scholarship to attract outstanding students to come to ZAFU to study. IC also boasts of modern teaching facilities including multimedia classrooms and a set of internship and practice bases, etc.. It is also one of the exam sites of HSK.

IC has been scaling up its international student education in recent days since it started recruiting foreign students in 2004. Each year more than 300 foreign students are enrolled for Chinese language programs and degree programs. For now there are about 1000   students from over 36 countries around the world in IC, out of which around 720 are  major students. According to the ranking issued by Zhejiang Foreign Affairs Office, IC    has made into top 10 of Zhejiang province regarding major student’s population.       Meanwhile, international capacity-building training programs are increasingly maturing, showing a great tendency of development. For now it has coached more than more than 1000 students studying abroad in English (academic English) learning.

IC will take the Belt and Road Initiatives as the opportunity to seek further development. It will focus on scaling up the foreign students education, diversifying the foreign student sources and improving the cultivation quality in the future to make IC a well-known place for cultivating foreign students on agriculture and forestry.
