Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology

Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology is a public full-time institution of higher learning which is engaged in higher vocational and technical education. It is an exemplary higher vocational college of Zhejiang Province founded by Ningbo Municipal Government.

The institute’s predecessors were the Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang Engineering Institution founded in 1979 and Zhejiang Textile Engineering School founded in 1980. Based on which, Zhejiang Textile Vocational and Technical College was prepared in 1999 and in 2003 Zhejiang Light Textile Vocational and Technical College was officially established. The other of the College’ predecessor was Ningbo Fashion Vocational and Technical College which was prepared in 1999 and officially established in 2002. in 2004, in order to further optimize the resources of higher education and offer better service to the textile and fashion industry of Ningbo and even the whole province, these two higher vocational colleges were merged into one – Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology upon the approval of Zhejiang People’s Government.  

The institute was located in the North Higher Education Zone of Ningbo, claiming an area of about 101.89 acres. The institute currently has over 10,000 students, over 600 teachers and workers, 187 teachers with expert titles and 287 teachers with the qualification of double-instruction. The institute has 9 secondary schools including Textile School, Fashion School, Arts and Design school, Youngor Business School, Electro-mechanic and Railway Traffic School, Telecommunication School, Humanity School, Adult Education School, Sino-UK College of Fashion and Design (International School).
