Established with approval from the Ministry of Education, Ningbo Polytechnic(NBPT) is a public vocational college, located within the Ningbo Port Economic Circle, adjacent to 5 national-level development zones, including Ningbo Economic & Technical Development Zone, Free Trade Zone, Daxie Development Zone, Export Processing Zone and Meishan Free Trade Zone. With its proximity to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the No.1 port in the world in terms of cargo throughput, NBPT offers programs closely related to the port industry, such as modern manufacturing and port-relevant services. It currently enrolls close to 10,000 full-time students and trains 20,000 people in vocational skills every year.

Educational globalization has been pushing forward the college’s international exchange and cooperation. So far, the college has established partnership with many universities or institutions of learning in U.S., U.K., Germany, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc. with a view to expanding educational partnership, strengthening educational cooperation, and sharing educational resources.

The college puts great emphasis on fostering an internationalized learning atmosphere, and equipping students with international vision. Every year, the college employs over 10 foreign teachers for language teaching or cultural exchange; moreover, many international exchange and cooperation programs in different aspects have been carried out, such as teacher training programs, exchange student programs, cooperative courses programs, International Certificate programs, etc., in order to promote curriculum development, and communications among different institutions, and thus push forward educational globalization.
