Ningbo University of Technology (NBUT) was founded in 1983 by Ningbo Municipal Government. Covering an area of 1.2 million square meters, the University comprises 3 campuses in downtown Ningbo and the Hangzhou Bay. In 2022, it has 13 secondary schools, 45 undergraduate programs and about 13,800 full-time students. Its teaching staff consists of more than 875 full-time faculties, of whom 366 are with senior professional posts and 343 with doctorate degrees. 

In 2010, the University was included as the first batch of universities in the “Outstanding Engineer Program” by Chinese Ministry of Education. In 2014, it became Chair of the Collegiate Union of Application-oriented Universities in Yangtze River Delta. In 2015, it was listed as the Applied Construction Pilot Universities of Zhejiang Province. In 2016, it was selected for Universities of National Project for Integrated Development of Industry and Education. In 2020, it ranks 297th in the main list of China University Rankings.
